How to cope with anxious thoughts

Mindfulness is key to managing anxious or compulsive thoughts and fear✨

Mindfulness takes practice and does not have to be a complicated process.

Here are a few tips for incorporating mindfulness into your daily life:

  1. Put your hand on your belly, breathe in, feel your belly fill with air and as you exhale, gently feel your belly move in toward your spine. Focus on the breathe and let go of any intrusive thoughts.

  2. Turn your hand and study the palm of your hand. Notice every crevice, line, callous, or crease. Just notice them, without judgment.

  3. Sit in a comfortable spot, imagine a beautiful river, focus your attention on the river and follow it as far as you can. Anxious thoughts might creep in, just notice them, and refocus your attention on the river.

  4. Mindfulness takes regular practice and can be incorporated into the mundane parts of life. You don’t need a special spot or setup.
