Are sessions covered by my insurance?
No, we are not paneled or “in network” with any insurance companies. This way, your therapist can tailor the sessions to meet YOUR needs, and not rely on direction from an insurance company. This puts you and your therapist in control of your treatment, and your information remains confidential and does not need to be released to a third-party insurance provider. Your privacy and quality of treatment matter to us and we don’t want a company dictating how or for how long we work together. We can provide you with a superbill upon request.
Why don’t you take insurance?
Insurance dictates care and provides limited coverage for mental health services.
Insurance required a diagnosis that creates a host of problems for people who want to enter or are in various fields (pilots, military, etc.). The diagnosis will be on your medical record and can impact your ability to gain employment or promotion in certain fields. When you private pay, no diagnosis has to be used or put on record.
Private pay is confidential. No information is sent to your insurance company unless you decide to submit a suberbill.
Insurance requires immense time and administrative work to process claims and insurance companies can clawback paid claims years later. You could be left responsible for thousands of dollars in unpaid claims by your insurance company.
