Hello, fellow visionaries!

What ideas do you have? Do you have a vision board? What fires you up? What are you passionate about? What gets your creative juices flowing?

Addiction recovery is giving up one thing for EVERYTHING.

Here are a few tips for building creativity and vision into your recovery plan.

Create a healthy boundaries list. Think about things that nourish your soul, mind, and body. Create a list of activities that help alleviate stress and balance your life. Examples include mindfulness, meditation, exercise, healthy foods, relationships, hobbies, and 12-step groups.

Create a vision board. Use a large sheet of paper and draw a large circle in the middle. On the outside of the circle, use bright markers and draw pictures of goals you want to attain in the next 5 years. Let your imagination go wild here, and set solid goals that will take work and perseverance. Inside the circle, write out 5 actions steps that you can take during the next 3-6 months that will inch you toward your goal.

Get out the paints! You will need red, yellow, blue, and white. From these colors, you can mix and create any color on the color wheel. Get a thick piece of art paper or a canvas and paint. Don’t worry about how it looks. Put on some relaxing music, mix colors, and paint something abstract that reflects your inner joy.
