Sana Maaz
Hello! I’m Sana Maaz (she/her). I’m a master’s level graduate student in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at The University of Houston-Clear Lake. My expected graduation date is May 2024. Rebecca Ray, LMFT (TX Lix. #203666) is my supervisor.
I am excited to join the incredible team of therapists here at Ray Family Therapy. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I work alongside my clients to not only consider their problems but the systems surrounding their problems. I am someone who has accepted and embraced the complexity of what it is to be human and want to "go there" with you so you can become the person you want to be. I employ a variety of modalities in the therapy room and take a collaborative approach with my clients so we do what works best for you and/or your relationship.
In a society where we are overwhelmed with finances, careers, and family, we can often lose ourselves and feel stuck in the void. I love working with clients to rediscover themselves and take the necessary steps toward feeling confident and secure. I have obtained Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and love using this methodology to help couples who have found themselves in a draining pattern of hurt and upset to reconnect and thrive together.
When I am not at work, you can find me reading in my reading nook, better known as my safe-space. My favorite genre is fantasy, but I also read a good bit of nonfiction that helps me to grow and develop professionally. I also love scratching my creative itch through sewing, cooking, antiquing, and interior design. I’ll never say no to an iced coffee or Mexican food (the spicier, the better), and I love to unwind with challenging video games.
If you are ready to move forward with improving your mental and emotional health, reach out and schedule your first appointment with me. I’d love to meet you!
